Detailed Itinerary

 

 

 

Day 01 Arrive Yangon                                                                                                                                               

Welcome on arrival and settle into your hotel. Take an guided tour for an introductory  tour  to the old colonial style city. Visit the Sule Pagoda, the old colonial buildings in the downtown area, the Botataung Pagoda on the waterfront and enjoy sunset over famous Shwedagon Pagoda one of the world wonders for its religious significance. Other highlights will include Chauk Htat Kyi, a huge reclining Buddha image, National Museum, Scott market for handicraft and souvenirs and evening stroll in bustling China town. Overnight at hotel.     

Day 02  Yangon-Mandalay- Amarapura-Inwa- Sagaing- Mandalay

Fly to Mandalay. Check in to hotel and Proceed tour to former royal capitals; Excursion to ancient capital Amarapura, old royal city before Mandalay. Tour highlights are Maha-gandayon Monastery (Buddhist University); U Bein Wooden Bridge,over 150 years long woodenbridge and silk weaving industry. Then proceed to Ava (Inwa), once a royal capital for four times which is visited by horsecart, to visit Bagaya Monastery, Nanmyint Watch Tower and Maha Aungmye Bonzan brick monastery.
Then to Sagaing are Ywataung Village, well-known for its silver craftsmen; Kaunghmudaw, an enormous solid dome-shaped pagoda; and picturesque Sagaing Hills, offer panoramic view of the valleys and a retreat for Buddhist saints. After that drive back to Mandalay. Overnight at Mandalay.

Day 03   Mandalay-Mingun-Mandalay

Transfer to pier for boat to Mingun, a pleasant voyage observing the  of  Myanmar river.  Observe the world's largest ringing bell casted by Bodawpaya in 1080 weighing 55555 viss which calculated equal to 90 tons and Mingun Pahtodawgyi, an enormous pile of bricks is all that remain of King Bodawpaya ambition to make it the world's largest Buddhist stupa. Then back to Mandalay and proceed for sightseeing.. Highlights Mahamuni Pagoda, home to Mandalay's holiest Buddha statue, 12.5ft high-seated image, which is heavily overlaid with gold. Visit to Marble stone carving workshops, Bronze casting workshops, Puppet shop,Tapestry work-shop, Wood carving and making showroom, Gold leaf beating workshop. Continue to  Mandalay Palace, Shwenandaw Monastery - known for its traditional wooden carvings, Atumashi Monastery, Kuthodaw Pagoda- Kuthodaw Pagoda, known as the "world's largest book" for the 729 marble slabs surrounding the central stupa on which the entire Tripitaka is inscribed. and enjoy the sunset view from the Mandalay Hill.

Day 04 Mandalay Bagan  (Day cruise on Ayerwaddy River)

After breakfast, transfer to Jetty to take express boat to Bagan, which will take you about 7 hours. Observe the river life while some stops at the villages on the way over very famous river Ayarwaddy. Check in  hotel and overnight at hotel.

Day 05 Bagan-Popa-Bagan                                                                                                                                           After breakfast, drive to Mount Popa,30 miles southeast of Bagan, a center for nat(spirit) worshippers on a extinct volcano with panoramic setting. On the way stop over at the village to observe the ways of making Toddy Candy. Return to Bagan in the afternoon. Enroute to Bagan and proceed sightseeing in Bagan, a former capital of ancient kingdoms, covered with thousands of temple ruins dating back to the 11th century. Excursion to some of the most important historic sites and vist  lacquer ware workshops to learn about the laborious process required in it's making and decoration. Complete your tour with a relaxing panoramic sunset view over from one of the pagoda platforms.                                                                                          

Day 06   Bagan horse cart & evening cruise

 Breakfast at hotel.  Monrning sightseeing by horse cart exploring morning Market in Nyaung Oo mingling with locals and Myinkaba village for a short walking tour to explore the temples of Manuha and Nan Paya. Then back to hotel in the afternoon and transfer to jetty to board on private evening cruise to Kyaukgu Umin Temple for looking a cave temple made of sand stone and on the way back and enjoy sun set over the Ayeyarwady River.

Day 07   Bagan- Heho-Inle Lake

Flight to Heho,  Drive to Inle Lake,  the second largest natural lake in Myanmar situated 1320 meter above the sea level among the hazy blue mountains. The lake's shore and islands bear 17 villages on stilts, inhabited by Intha people famous for their  unique leg-rowing techniques. Continue sightseeing in the lake.

Day 08   Inle Lake
Start Morning boat trip to Inndaing, a historical site famous for thousands of ancient stupas and temples built during 12th and 13th centuries. The temple consists of hundreds of small ancient stupas from 13 th century. The panoramic view of the village offers a tranquility and peaceful environment. Then proceed for sightseeing in Inle Lake. Continue to visit to Inle lake floating gardens, villages around the lake, Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda, home industries and the Nga Phe Kyaung Monastery. Overnight in Inle Lake.

Day 09    Nam pan area ( Trekking)

Breakfast at hotel. Depart 7:00 am from hotel and go to Nan pan village by boat. After that walk  to Mann Aung (Pao) village for 45 minutes. At Mann Aung village, you can see many plant of cheroot leaves.  Proceed trek to  Yae cho village of Nepalise National village where you can observe pottery workshops.  Then proceed to Ga Naing Gyi village for one hour walk.  On the way,  you can see cheroot leaf garden and sugar cane plants. Lunch at Ga Naing Gyi village.  The proceed to Ga Naing Pot village  of village located on hill top.  Observe  way of lives in the village and proceed another village across small forest.  One hour later you will reach Kon Lon village of Pa O races. From Kon Lon walk about 30 minutes, you may reach Mann Aung  and return to Nampan or Mangeegone. You boat will be waiting at the village. That one day return trekking trip will be about 5 hours walk.

Day 10   Inle Lake-Heho Yangon ( Evening Departures)
Leisure until transfer to Heho for flight Yangon. Met on arrival and transfer to Yangon international airport for departure flight. End of Service
