9 Days Yangon Bagan Mandalay Inle Kalaw Loikaw

Tour that will give you highlights about local hospitality, unspoilt natural scenery and traditional cultures, different ways of life  especially Kayan ethnic tribes in Loikaw area.


 Day 1     Yangon

Pick up from hotel and proceed for an Orientation tour in Yangon discovering the Old Yangon mixed in modern culture.the city center,and historic temples including Shwedagon Pagoda(the Golden temple). Visit landmarks and later afternoon, visit Bogyoke market and evening stroll along Pansodan street,Yangon Jetty and Lively China town. Back to hotel after sightseeing and overnight in Yangon.


Day 2     Yangon- Bagan

Transfer to airport  for flight to Bagan. Meet on arrival and check in hotel. Proceed sightseeing in Bagan. an acient city capital from  11th till 13th century when religious fervors launched a 200 year building of thousands huge stupas and temples, many of which are still standing today on the banks of the Irrawaddy River. Proceed for  guided tour exploring key sights and ancient temples covering important historic temples, and the neighboring villages to  learn about their traditional livelihood. Highlights also include workshops of two of the region's best known products: handmade lacquer ware and wooden handicrafts. Complete your tour with a relaxing panoramic sunset view over from one of the pagoda platforms.


Day 3    Bagan-Mandalay

Breakfast at hotel. Transfer to airport for flight to Mandalay.Met on arrival by our station guide and transfer to hotel. Proceed touring in Mandalay photographing at the most interesting insights. Highlights include Shwenandaw Golden Palace monastery noted for its exquisite wood carving, Kuthodaw pagoda with 729 stone tablets (known as the World's Biggest Book), and other interesting home industries. Then Visit Amarapura, an ancient royal capital and  marble sculpting center. Visit  a 200 year old teak bridge, the Golden Palace Monastery with its intricate woodcarvings and climb up Mandalay Hill at sunset as time allowed. Overnight in Mandalay.


Day 3    Bagan-Mandalay- Heho- Inle

Breakfast at hotel.  Transfer to airport for flight to Heho. Met on arrival and transfer to Nyaungshwe, the gateway town to Inle, Transfer to jetty on arrival and take boat to hotel. Check in hotel and proceed  for your boat trip to Inle Lake. the second largest natural lake in Myanmar situated 1320 meter above the sea level among the hazy blue mountains. The lake's shore and islands bear 17 villages on stilts, inhabited by Intha people famous for their  unique leg-rowing techniques. Tour highlights are Inle lake floating gardens, villages around the lake, PhaungdawOo Pagoda, home industries and the NgaPheKyaung Monastery. Back to hotel after sightseeing in  the late afternoon and rest day at leisure. Overnight at hotel in Inle Lake.


Day 4       Inle – Nyaungshwe- Kalaw (Boat + Car + Hotel )

Breakfast at hotel.  Transfer by boat to Nyaungshwe and drive to Kalaw, an old hill station town with a laid back atmosphere, refreshing climate and scenic views with former colonial buildings and ethnic lifestyles and Hill tribal villages. Check in at Kalaw Heritage Hotel and rest day at leisure for your own exploration ( Short treks to hilly area can be arranged.) Or take bike or horse cart to explore the little town can be arranged with hotel.


Day 5     Kalaw-Phekon-Loikaw

Breakfast at hotel, proceed to Loikaw by coach. On the way, visit Phekon and some villages on the way and, observe activities of  cultivation ,and lifestyles. And proceed to Loikaw enjoying beauty of the landscape with some photo stops on the way. The time of arrival will be in the evening .Check in hotel and overnight in Loikaw. The proceed short tour in Loikaw. Visit weaving factory where most Kayah tradition costumes are produced. If weather allowed, complete your tour with enjoying sunset at Taung Kwe Zedi, a cluster of stupas are located and walk ways builts on limestone mountains. Overnight in Loikaw.


Day 6     Loikaw Tribe Village

Breakfast at hotel ,pick up from hotel and drive to Pan Pet , Kayan village. In this village, you can see the long neck women ( Kayan tribe). You can visit around the village and visit their home. The villagers are making Kayan bracelets, weaving cotton, carving wooden, weaving bamboo and other handwork. You can see these activities and study. And you can enjoy the Kayan traditional lunch at a local home. And then, we will go to Hta Nee La Leh , Kayah village. In this village, you can see their way of life and believe. And you can visit around the village and their home. These include musicians who play traditional bamboo guitars, experts in Kayah dress, and artisans who make distinctive Kayah lacquer leg rings. In the evining, we will come back to Loikaw.


Day 7  Loikaw City

After having breakfast, Visit market in the morning and visit to traditional center  to make Kayah traditional sausage by yourself. This experience is wonderful. After that, go to Weaving Centre. In this centre, try to learn about how to make natural dyeing. Then visit to Kayah National Museum. Rest day exploring other spots in town.  Overnight at Loikaw.


Day 5     Loikaw- Yangon

Breakfast at hotel. Transfer to airport for flight to Yangon. Met on arrival and transfer to hotel. Proceed for city sightseeing as time allowed. Highlights are Shwedagon Pagoda, city area, and finally to Bogyoke market to chase for crafts, precious gems, local food and others…Back to hotel after sightseeing and overnight.


Day 7   Departure

Breakfast at hotel. Leisure till transfer to airport for departure flight.
